Share on Facebook Send via email Report surfaced on Wednesday, March 29 that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) was abolishing the computer based testing mode of conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It was said to be dumping the CBT because of the low computer literacy level of candidates across the country. No going back on CBT: JAMB introduces 8 keys In an attempt to make CBT friendly, JAMB introduced the use of 8 keys without a mouse The board has debunked this report, describing it as misleading while also restating its determination to continue all its examinations using CBT mode. READ ALSO: 282 more die as fresh disease ravages Nigeria In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, March 30, the spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the headline: “JAMB dumps CBT, adopts eight keys”, was misleading and capable of causing panic, distortion and confusion in the minds of Nigerians particularly the candidates planning to take the 2017 UTME. “At the meeting, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, restated the determination of JAMB to continue to innovate on policies that will ease the phobia for CBT, one of which is the introduction of the use of 8 keys without a mouse and nowhere was the issue of dumping CBT contemplated,” Benjamin said. According to him, the CBT will still be used for the forthcoming UTME. A - for choosing option A in response to questions 2. B - for choosing the B option 3. C - represents option C 4. D - for selecting option D 5.
